About the Role

n

As a Personal Care Worker, you will attend to the personal care needs of customers, with a focus on those requiring additional assistance due to physical limitations or frailty. You will provide manual handling support, deliver activities to enhance the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of customers, and supervise daily hygiene routines. You will also report changes in customers' conditions to senior staff and advocate for residents' wellbeing through exceptional service and effective collaboration with families and the care team.

Responsibilities

- Provide person‐centered care, demonstrating patience, empathy and listening while respecting each customer's unique needs.
n
- Attend to personal care needs, including showers, baths, shaving, nail care, and use of personal aids such as surgical stockings or tens machines.
n
- Monitor and record clients' vital signs and assist with medication management, including reminders and administration as prescribed.
n
- Provide manual handling assistance for daily tasks, ensuring safety and comfort for residents.
n
- Identify and report changes in customers' circumstances and capacity to senior staff.
n
- Assist with the use of aids and equipment to support mobility and independence.
n

Qualifications

n

n




- Studying towards Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) is desirable.
n
- Previous experience in providing personal care services to individuals with physical or mental disabilities, elderly or chronically ill patients.
n
- Proficient in activities of daily living, person‐centered practice, medication administration & monitoring, and providing medical and personal support to residents.
n
- Strong analytical thinking, communication, customer‐experience orientation, emotional intelligence, planning and prioritisation, and results‐orientation skills.
n

Charlesbrook is a 70‐bed residential aged care facility located near Templestowe, close to major shopping centres, Birrarung and Westerfolds Parks, and with access to major public transport routes.
