Duty Manager – Short-Term Rentals / Hotel Accommodation

Sungrass Property Group is a specialist residential building management company operating in Australia. We provide short-term and long-term accommodation services for apartment owners within the residential buildings we manage.

We are seeking a reliable, experienced and hands-on Duty Manager to join our expanding team in Footscray.

n

Previous hotel, serviced apartment or short-term accommodation experience is essential.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Oversee daily front-office and guest-service operations.
n
- Support, supervise and provide guidance to reception staff.
n
- Ensure a consistently high standard of customer service and guest satisfaction.
n
- Respond to guest enquiries, complaints and operational issues in a professional and timely manner.
n
- Coordinate daily housekeeping operations and communicate effectively with the housekeeping team.
n
- Assist with staff scheduling and roster management for reception and housekeeping employees.
n
- Review housekeeping rosters and identify staffing requirements.
n
- Conduct room inspections and spot checks to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained.
n
- Supervise housekeeping team leaders and follow up on any quality or maintenance issues.
n




- Work closely with management to improve operational procedures and the overall guest experience.
n
- Assist with other operational duties as required.
n

About You

n

- The successful candidate will have:
n
- Previous experience in a duty manager, front-office supervisor or similar hospitality role.
n
- Strong experience in guest services and daily accommodation operations.
n
- Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
n
- The ability to supervise and motivate reception and housekeeping teams.
n
- Strong organisational and roster-management skills.
n
- A hands-on approach and the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced setting.
n
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to service quality.
n
- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays when required.
n
