Early Childhood Teacher | Preschool Room Leader

Are you an experienced Early Childhood Teacher ready to lead a preschool room where children's ideas, questions and capabilities genuinely shape the curriculum?

Kids Planet Academy North Ryde is seeking a confident, reflective and experienced Early Childhood Teacher to lead our preschool room.
n
This is a hands‐on leadership position for an educator who understands preschool-aged children, can inspire and guide a team, and wants to deliver much more than a standard school-readiness program.

About the role
n
As our Preschool Room Leader, you will lead the day-to-day operation and educational direction of the preschool room while working closely with the Service Manager, Educational Leader and room educators.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Leading a high-quality, play-based and inquiry-driven preschool program
n
- Planning, implementing and evaluating meaningful learning experiences aligned with the EYLF V2.0 and National Quality Standard
n
- Leading our school transition program while maintaining a thoughtful balance between intentional teaching, play, inquiry and child‐led learning
n
- Observing and analysing children's learning, development and progress
n
- Maintaining meaningful and high-quality curriculum documentation
n
- Leading critical reflection and contributing to continuous improvement
n
- Supporting and mentoring educators to strengthen their teaching practices, confidence and professional knowledge
n
- Creating an organised, engaging, inclusive and responsive learning environment
n
- Establishing clear expectations and supporting the consistent daily operation of the room
n
- Building respectful and collaborative relationships with children and families
n
- Contributing to the service Quality Improvement Plan
n
- Supporting excursions, community partnerships, learning exhibitions and other curriculum initiatives
n
- Promoting a robust culture of child safety, participation, inclusion and wellbeing
n
n
About you
n
To be considered for this position, you must have:
n
n
- A Bachelor or Master qualification in Early Childhood Education recognised by ACECQA
n
- Current NESA accreditation, or eligibility to obtain accreditation
n
- A minimum of two years' experience working directly with preschool-aged children in a preschool room within an early childhood education and care setting
n
- A strong understanding of the learning, development and emotional needs of children aged three to five years
n
- Demonstrated experience planning, implementing and evaluating a high-quality preschool curriculum
n
- Strong knowledge of the EYLF V2.0,
National Quality Standard and Education and Care Services National Regulations
n
- The confidence and capability to lead, guide and mentor a team of educators
n
- Strong written communication, curriculum documentation and critical-reflection skills
n
- The ability to establish trusting and professional partnerships with children, families and colleagues
n
- A current NSW Working with Children Check
n
- Current approved First Aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis training
n
- Current child-protection training
n
- Full Australian working rights
n
- Previous experience as a Preschool Room Leader is strongly preferred. However, an experienced preschool ECT who can demonstrate strong leadership capability and readiness to step into a room leadership position may also be considered.
