IT Technician
Mount Lilydale Mercy College is a vibrant, faith-based learning community inspired by the traditions of the Sisters of Mercy. We are dedicated to fostering excellence in teaching and learning and supporting the holistic development of every student.
We are seeking a passionate and committed IT Technician to join our team in a full-time capacity.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to staff and students. Your work will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the College's technology infrastructure and enabling the effective use of IT resources.
What you'll be doing
- Provide timely and efficient technical support to staff and students, troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Maintain and update the College's technology infrastructure, including computers, printers and other equipment
- Assist with the installation, configuration and testing of new hardware and software
- Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems, including implementing and maintaining appropriate security measures
- Contribute to the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures
- Collaborate with the broader IT team to identify and implement improvements to the College's technology systems
- Provide training and support to staff and students on the use of IT resources
What we're looking for
- Hands-on experience in an IT support or technician role, in an educational environment
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology
- Robust troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide effective support to users with varying levels of technical expertise
- Familiarity with common hardware, software, and networking technologies used in an educational setting
- Understanding of IT security best practices and the ability to implement appropriate measures
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
