About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team. This role supports the day-to-day financial management of the organisation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and sound financial governance across multiple entities. You'll work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and collaborate with staff, students, agents, and senior management across the business.

This is a excellent opportunity for someone with a solid grounding in accounting practices who is eager to build their reporting, analytical, and compliance skills in a dynamic, multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Manage multi-entity transactions and report on financial risks
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial reports with procedural standards
- Update and create accounting policies relevant to the business
- Prepare financial reports for CFO review and approval
- Prepare statutory reports and statements for government bodies (ATO, ASIC, ASQA, NEAS) as required
- Maintain internal control systems, including Xero, PRISMS, Axcelerate, and MESHED
- Prepare end-of-month, quarter, and year accounts receivable reporting




- Prepare tax lodgements for CFO review
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register
- Provide branch support and resolve financial and accounting queries
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes as needed
- Conduct financial investigations, audits, and reporting as required (e.g. mergers and acquisitions, compliance reviews, fraud investigations, refinancing)
- Evaluate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance, including income and expense analysis
- Provide financial and tax advice on business structure, plans, and operations
- Assess project-level financial risk and cash flow impact

About You
- Working knowledge of accounting practices and compliance requirements
- Strong reporting and analytical skills
- Experience with accounting/finance software (e.g. Xero) highly regarded
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise across a range of stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
