Role Description This full-time, on-site Junior Employment Lawyer role is based in the Gold Coast and involves supporting the firm’s employment and industrial relations practice. The role includes drafting and reviewing employment contracts, workplace policies, and related documentation, as well as assisting with advice on disciplinary processes, terminations, and compliance issues.
The Junior Employment
Lawyer will help prepare matters for employment tribunals,
support senior lawyers with research and drafting, and liaise with clients to gather information and provide updates. Day-to-day responsibilities also include monitoring legislative changes, preparing legal briefs and submissions, and contributing to the firm’s knowledge resources and client education materials.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational legal knowledge, with demonstrated skills in Law and Labor and Employment Law.
- Experience or training in drafting and reviewing Employment Contracts and workplace documentation.
- Exposure to Employment Tribunal procedures and handling or assisting with Labor Disputes.
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent, with eligibility for (or admission to) practice as a lawyer.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and drafting skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to build respectful client relationships.
- Capacity to work collaboratively in a small team setting and manage competing priorities.
- Interest in employment and industrial relations law and willingness to develop expertise in this area.
