Programmed Maintenance Services – Wollongong NSW
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our fabrication team.
The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that fabricated components, assemblies and finished products consistently meet company quality standards, engineering drawings, applicable standards and customer specifications throughout the manufacturing process and prior to dispatch.
This role will work closely with the fabrication and production teams to identify and resolve quality issues, maintain accurate quality records and contribute to the continuous improvement of our quality systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quality inspections of fabricated components and assemblies throughout the manufacturing process.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances and workmanship against engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
- Perform visual inspections of welds, fabricated assemblies and finished products.
- Complete and maintain inspection documentation, including in-process inspection records, ITPs and MDRs.
- Accurately record inspection results and maintain appropriate quality documentation and traceability.
- Identify, record and manage non-conforming products in accordance with company procedures.
- Work collaboratively with Fabrication Supervisors and production personnel to investigate and resolve quality issues.
- Ensure products and processes comply with company quality procedures, relevant standards and customer requirements.
- Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of quality control processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving product quality, efficiency and consistency.
About You
- Previous experience within a fabrication, manufacturing or engineering environment.
- The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Solid attention to detail and a commitment to delivering consistently high-quality outcomes.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Competent computer skills, particularly for completing and maintaining inspection and quality records.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a production environment.
- A proactive approach to identifying potential quality issues and implementing practical solutions.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Trade qualification in fabrication, welding, mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in quality control or quality assurance.
- Knowledge of relevant welding standards and fabrication inspection requirements.
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality management system.
- Hydraulic fabrication or maintenance experience.
- Press brake operation and fabrication experience.
- Machining experience (advantageous but not essential).
- Coating inspection qualifications and/or experience (advantageous but not essential).

Remuneration will be negotiated based on experience, qualifications and the successful candidate's ability to fulfil the requirements of the role.
