We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Hardware IT Trainee to join our Production team. This traineeship is an excellent opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience working with computers and IT equipment while completing a nationally recognised Certificate in Information Technology.
You’ll gain real-world experience in hardware testing, diagnostics, refurbishment, repairs, Windows imaging, data sanitisation and device preparation, while receiving ongoing training and mentoring from an experienced ICT team.
Please note: This is an entry-level traineeship position. Applicants who already hold a Diploma or higher qualification in Information Technology (or a related field) may not be eligible under traineeship requirements.
About the Role
As a Hardware IT Trainee in Production, you will work with a range of IT assets, including:
- Laptops
- Desktop computers
- Tablets
- Mobile devices
Your role may include:
- Inspecting, testing and grading IT hardware
- Diagnosing hardware faults and functionality issuesTesting CPU, RAM, storage, batteries and other components
- Testing keyboards, screens, webcams, speakers and ports
- Securely erasing data using professional software such as Blancco
- Cleaning and cosmetically restoring devices
- Assisting with hardware repairs and component replacement
- Performing RAM and storage upgrades
- Creating and deploying standard Windows images
- Installing and configuring Windows, drivers and software
- Performing Windows testing and software activation
- Completing final quality assurance checks
- Creating and printing asset labels using Smart Freight
- Scanning and organising IT assets
- Maintaining a clean and organised production environment
- Working efficiently while meeting established production processes and SLAs
