Bayse is growing and we have an exciting opportunity for a Projects & Construction Lawyer (1–3 years’ PQE) to join our team.

This role offers genuine hands-on experience across a broad range of projects and construction matters, working directly with a Doyle’s-ranked partner in projects and construction. It is an excellent chance for a lawyer looking to accelerate their development and take on meaningful responsibility from an early stage.

About the role

You will act for clients across the full lifecycle of construction projects. Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing, negotiating and advising on a broad range of construction contracts;
- Providing project delivery advice, including preparing and responding to contractual claims and notices;
- Advising on adjudication processes under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999 (NSW) and equivalent legislation in other jurisdictions;
- Assisting with mediations, expert determinations, arbitrations and litigation in courts and tribunals;
- Working directly with clients and delivering practical, commercially focused advice; and




- Managing matters with appropriate supervision while progressively taking on greater responsibility and autonomy.

About you

You will have

- 1–3 years’ PQE with experience in construction law;
- An interest in developing expertise across both front-end and back-end construction matters;
- Strong drafting, analytical and attention-to-detail skills;
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within a team;
- Initiative, accountability and a willingness to take ownership of your work; and
- A genuine desire to learn from experienced practitioners and progress your career.
