Job Description
Business Analyst – ICT and Digital Transformation
n
Contract: 24 August 2026 to 27 August 2027
n Rate: $102.66 per hour + superannuation
n Hours: 40 hours per week
n Location: Brisbane– initial on-site attendance required, with hybrid arrangements potentially available subject to approval
n Clearance: Criminal History Check required

The opportunity
n
An exciting long-term contract opportunity is available for an experienced Business Analyst to join a large Queensland Government organisation delivering important ICT and digital transformation initiatives.
n
This role will suit a highly capable Business Analyst who can lead complex investigative and requirements activities, work confidently with senior stakeholders and translate business needs into clear, prioritised and deliverable outcomes.
n
You may be assigned across one or more projects throughout the engagement, depending on organisational priorities.
n
Key responsibilities
n
As the Business Analyst, you will:
n
n
- Lead investigative and discovery activities to identify business needs, requirements and opportunities for improvement.
n
- Select and apply appropriate business analysis methods, tools and techniques across predictive and Agile delivery environments.
n
- Establish and document detailed ICT business, functional and system requirements.
n
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops, interviews, surveys and client meetings to gather and validate requirements.
n
- Secure formal agreement from a broad range of stakeholders on scope, requirements and delivery baselines.
n
- Work closely with business and technical teams to translate requirements into clearly defined and prioritised Product Backlog Items.
n
- Participate in and facilitate Agile ceremonies, resolve requirement queries and help maintain alignment between delivery priorities and evolving business needs.
n
- Analyse and redesign business processes, identifying opportunities to improve services through technology,
automation and process optimisation.
n
- Develop process maps, conceptual business models, business cases and other documentation to support decision-making.
n
- Manage competing stakeholder priorities, requirements changes and potential conflicts.
n
- Build strong relationships between business stakeholders, technical teams and project delivery functions.
n
- Contribute to business analysis standards, knowledge sharing and the continuous improvement of project delivery practices.
n
- Research emerging technologies, contemporary frameworks and industry best practice.
n
n
About you
n
You will be an experienced Business Analyst with demonstrated success delivering outcomes within large, complex ICT or digital transformation environments.
n
You will bring:
n
n
- Robust experience leading business analysis and requirements definition activities.
n
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex requirements across multiple stakeholder groups.
n
- Experience working with both Agile and structured project delivery methodologies.
n
- Strong workshop facilitation, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
n
- Experience developing process maps, business models, business cases and requirements documentation.
n
- The ability to translate complex business problems into clear and practical delivery outcomes.
n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
n
- The ability to draw evidence-based conclusions and recommendations.
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
n
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
n
- The confidence to engage with senior business, technical and executive stakeholders.
n
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build productive relationships across delivery teams.
n
n
Experience operating at a senior Business Analyst level, including responsibilities aligned with SFIA Level 5 Business Analysis, Requirements Definition and Business Process Improvement, will be highly regarded.
n
Engagement requirements
n
The successful candidate must:
n
n
- Be available to commence on 24 August 2026.
n
- Complete and maintain a clear Criminal History Check.
n
- Be able to work standard business hours of eight hours per day and 40 hours per week.
n
- Attend the nominated workplace for at least the initial two weeks of the engagement.
n
- Be available to work on-site during any notice period.
n
- Perform all work from within Australia.
n
- Comply with all applicable security, confidentiality, timesheet and organisational requirements.
n
n
Hybrid or work-from-home arrangements may be considered following the initial on-site period but will remain subject to supervisor approval and operational requirements.
n
