About the Role:
The Head of Curriculum will provide strategic and instructional leadership across the school, with a solid focus on improving the quality and consistency of teaching, learning and assessment.
The successful applicant will:
- Lead the implementation of the Australian Curriculum v9, ensuring strong alignment between curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and reporting.
- Lead whole-school improvement in teaching and learning, establishing high expectations and consistent, evidence-informed practice.
- Build teacher capability through coaching, mentoring, modelling, classroom observation, feedback and targeted professional learning.
- Lead effective differentiation and inclusive curriculum practices, supporting teachers to respond to individual student needs, strengths and readiness.
- Lead high-quality planning, assessment, pre-moderation and moderation, strengthening assessment literacy and consistency of teacher judgement.
- Use student learning and achievement data to identify priorities, monitor progress and evaluate the impact of teaching and intervention.
- Embed culturally responsive, inclusive and socially just practices across curriculum and teaching.
- Build strong partnerships with students, staff, families, community and relevant agencies.
- Contribute strategically to whole-school improvement priorities and effectively manage curriculum resources, systems and processes.
- Maintain a strong understanding of relevant departmental policies, procedures, legislation and professional standards.
Key Capabilities
We are seeking an instructional leader who can operate both strategically and operationally,
with the capacity to lead people, curriculum and improvement. The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Deep knowledge of the Australian Curriculum v9, curriculum planning, assessment and reporting.
- Strong instructional leadership and the ability to coach and develop teachers to improve classroom practice.
- Strong knowledge of differentiation, inclusion, assessment, pre-moderation and moderation.
- Capacity to use evidence and data to lead and monitor improvement.
- A strong commitment to culturally responsive practice and genuine community partnership.
- Strategic thinking, effective change leadership and a commitment to achieving improved learning outcomes for all students.
