The Lecturer, Learning Futures is responsible for the teaching and learning support division, and play a key role in enhancing educational quality and student success. Working primarily with the Faculty of Science, Engineering and the Built Environment (SEBE), you will provide evidence-based advice and support to academic staff on teaching and learning practices. You will contribute to curriculum and learning design, develop teaching and learning resources, and partner with teaching teams to enhance student learning experiences and outcomes. The role also supports the planning, delivery and evaluation of initiatives that drive innovation and excellence in education across the University.

As a Lecturer, you will:

- Provide expert advice and support to academic staff on curriculum design, assessment and teaching practices, using evidence-based approaches to enhance student learning experiences and outcomes.
- Lead and collaborate on educational design projects with teaching teams to redesign curriculum, assessment and learning experiences, driving innovation and excellence in teaching across the faculty.
- Contribute to educational research and scholarship by engaging in pedagogical research, publications and presentations, while applying emerging educational practices and technologies, including generative AI, to improve learning and teaching outcomes.

Key Selection Criteria:

- PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience.
- Experience in providing support and advice to academics in relation to enhancing curriculum, pedagogy and assessment, particularly in the science, engineering, IT and built environment disciplines.
- Experience in contributing to the co-design and/or delivery of cutting-edge teaching in online,



campus based and blended learning environments.
- Emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or success in obtaining external research funding.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.

The Senior Lecturer, Learning Futures is responsible for driving excellence and innovation in teaching, learning, assessment, and curriculum design across the University. Working closely with the Associate Director, Learning Innovation (SEBE), the role provides expert advice and support to academic staff, applying evidence-based approaches to enhance student learning experiences and outcomes.

The position leads learning and teaching initiatives, builds staff capability, and collaborates with Faculties and the Deakin Learning Futures team to improve courses and units.

As a Senior Lecturer, you will:

- Lead learning and teaching excellence by providing academic leadership, guidance, and capability development in curriculum design, learning design, and assessment practices in SEBE.
- Drive evidence-based educational innovation by partnering with academic staff to enhance student learning experiences, implement contemporary teaching approaches, and develop solutions informed by emerging educational trends and technologies.
- Advance scholarship and team performance through research, publication, stakeholder collaboration, staff development, and effective management of team performance, workloads, and compliance requirements.

Key Selection Criteria:

- PhD in a relevant discipline and/or advanced qualifications and experience in the relevant discipline area.
- Familiarity with teaching and learning in SEBE disciplines (IT,



Life and Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or Architecture and Construction Management).
- Highly developed knowledge and skills and expertise in learning and teaching with a particular focus on learning, innovative curriculum and assessment design to support quality student experiences and learning outcomes.
- Evidence of excellence in contribution to innovative teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, in online, campus based and blended learning environments.
