We are closely partnering with a well-funded, legal automation / AI start up, focused on building matter management solutions for specific legal practices, including conveyancing, banking & finance, and disputes & litigation. Each solution gives a practice a single operating layer to automate procedural, high-volume work, delegate matter steps to reliable, auditable workflows, and visualise the status of every matter end to end. This is a hybrid role based in Sydney or Brisbane.
The firm are building a matter management solution to manage dispute matters. This hire heads up the build end to end: domain authority on how disputes run, validation of every workflow against real practice, and peer-to-peer engagement with the litigation practices they sell to. The solution covers court deadline management, document bundling, chronology building, and correspondence tracking; the infrastructure layer for matters that run for months or years.

- Validate every workflow against how disputes actually run; directions timetables, interlocutory applications, discovery, document bundles, chronologies, and correspondence tracking
- Work hands-on with product and engineering to translate litigation practice into product features, data models, and automations
- Lead customer engagement. This could include running peer-to-peer conversations with litigation partners and their teams, and validating the product against real matters
- Review and quality-check automated workflows for accuracy, completeness, and jurisdictional correctness

- Senior commercial litigation background; at least 5 years of litigation experience in a law firm , running complex commercial disputes.
- Deep working knowledge of court procedure across Australian jurisdictions, including directions timetables, discovery, evidence preparation, and costs
- Ability to articulate complex litigation processes clearly to a technical team
- Precision with business rules and edge cases; the platform is only as positive as the procedural logic behind it

- Insolvency and/or construction disputes experience - this would be a genuine bonus for the product roadmap
- Prior exposure to legal technology, software teams, or process-improvement work within your firm
