AO7/AO8 Principal Human Resources Business Partner

About the Role
We are seeking a Principal HR Business Partner to deliver strategic and operational human resources leadership within a dynamic healthcare setting. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will partner directly with Executive Directors, Clinical Service Directors, and Senior Management Teams to build a flexible workforce and foster an inclusive culture focused on quality care.
In this leadership role, you will manage a dedicated team of HR professionals, providing expert advice across employee relations, performance management, workforce strategies, and industrial compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Advisory: Provide high-level HR management advice and coaching to executive and clinical leadership to drive operational results.
Team Leadership: Manage and build capability across a team of Senior HR Business Partners and HR Business Partners.
Employee Relations & Governance: Guide leadership through complex employee performance matters, complaint resolution, and change initiatives in accordance with industry policy and industrial instruments.
Continuous Improvement: Review HR systems and policies while analyzing quantitative and qualitative workforce data to identify service improvement opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong partnerships with executive leaders, workforce teams, unions,
and external regulatory bodies.
Selection Criteria
Healthcare HR Experience: Substantial experience delivering HR leadership and advisory services within a complex, multi-disciplinary healthcare or clinical setting.
People Leadership: Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop HR team members.
Industrial Relations Expertise: Deep knowledge of contemporary HR practices, performance management, and public sector or health-industry employment frameworks.
Stakeholder Influence: Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with a track record of building trust with clinical and administrative leaders.
Adaptability: Demonstrated capability to navigate ambiguous environments, resolve complex disputes, and drive continuous organizational improvement.
Qualifications: Tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in Human Resource Management, Business, or a related field are highly desirable.
- Public Sector experience is mandatory
