Total Remuneration Package: Remuneration package valued at up to $156,253.00. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.

Position Information
Verona School is an intensive learning support setting with 105 students in Years 5-12. Teachers at Verona are valued for their willingness to teach across subject areas, their compassion to support our most vulnerable and their ability to engage with students, staff and our community. With two campuses, Stage 3 - Stage 6 classes, trade and hospitality facilities and much more, Verona prides itself on its strong collective efficacy, its commitment to equity and our individualised and holistic approach to education.
Verona's students come from diverse backgrounds and cultural groups. With 30% of students in Out of Home Care, 30% Aboriginal or Torres Strait islander, 30% with Language Backgrounds Other than English.
The position of Teacher Special Education is open to all teachers with experience delivering mainstream education with intensive supports.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval or willingness to teach Special Education and/or experience teaching students with complex behavioural, emotional, mental health, autism and diverse learning needs.
- Demonstrated ability to plan,
implement and differentiate quality teaching and learning programs to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement Personalised Learning Plans, Behaviour Support plans and wellbeing strategies that promote student growth, high expectations and engagement for a range of student learning needs.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with the capacity to work collaboratively with students, staff, parents/carers and external agencies.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching chance.
