The Opportunity Based at the company's Seven Hills headquarters, you will oversee a team of approximately 40 employees across NSW, including operational teams in Sydney and Newcastle, supervisors, administration and workshop functions.

This is a hands‑on leadership position suited to someone who is commercially hungry, practical and comfortable operating in a relatively flat structure. You'll be trusted to make decisions, solve problems and drive the NSW operation forward.

You’ll have the opportunity to influence both the day‑to‑day performance of the business and its future growth, working closely with the General Manager to identify new opportunities and strengthen existing customer relationships.

- Lead, mentor and develop the NSW operational team, including supervisors and frontline staff.
- Take ownership of the day‑to‑day performance of the NSW operation.
- Work closely with the General Manager to deliver operational and commercial objectives.

- Champion WHS, compliance and a strong safety culture across the operation.
- Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management and heavy vehicle requirements.
- Analyse operational performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for more than someone who simply has the right job title.

You will be a hungry, hands‑on operator with the ambition and capability to take genuine ownership of an operation.

You’ll ideally bring:

- Previous experience in operations, fleet, transport, civil, road services, waste, construction or a related environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing supervisors.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how operational decisions impact profitability.
- Experience managing customer relationships and delivering against contractual KPIs.
- Exposure to business development, tenders or winning new work.Strong understanding of WHS, Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management and relevant heavy vehicle legislation.

- Sound mechanical understanding of heavy vehicles and fleet operations.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to operate autonomously.
- Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
- Confidence dealing with senior stakeholders, customers and frontline employees.
- Strong Microsoft Office and operational systems capability.
- A current Australian driver's licence. HR or HC licence highly regarded.
- Full Australian working rights.

The Person

This role will suit someone who is ambitious, energetic and wants to build something.

You might currently be an Operations Manager looking for greater autonomy, or a strong Operations Supervisor, Fleet Manager, Depot Manager or senior operational leader who is ready to take the next step.

A background in civil engineering, building engineering or a related technical discipline would be advantageous, but we're equally interested in people who have developed their operational expertise through hands‑on industry experience.

What matters most is your attitude, commercial mindset, leadership capability and willingness to take ownership.

What's On Offer?

- $130,000–$160,000 + Super
- Fully maintained company vehicle
- Bonus opportunity
- Fuel card, phone, laptop and e-tag
- Seven Hills-based role with responsibility across NSW

- A supportive, practical and fast‑paced team environment

This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of a significant NSW operation and play a key role in its next stage of growth.

If you're an ambitious operations leader ready to make your mark, we'd like to hear from you.
