Location: Wacol, Brisbane
Employment: Full time, Monday to Friday
Hours: 7:00am – 3:00pm
Pay: From $35 per hour, with scope for increase based on experience
The Opportunity:
An established Australian-owned business specialising in lifting, rigging and height safety equipment is seeking a Workshop & Field Service Technician to join its Wacol team.
This is a hands-on role combining workshop-based inspection, testing, assembly and repair with onsite customer service and equipment inspections.
You’ll work with lifting, rigging and height safety equipment and develop your technical knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, testing requirements, and industry practices.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone from an industrial, trades, mechanical, technical or warehouse environment who enjoys practical work and wants to build a long-term career, with the potential to progress into a supervisory role.
What’s on offer:
Monday to Friday, approximately 7:00am – 3:00pm
Service area generally Brisbane to the Gold Coast
Company vehicle provided for field work

About the Roles:
Workshop Responsibilities
Inspect, test, assemble and repair lifting and height safety equipment
Assemble wire rope and chain slings and conduct load testing
Work to relevant Australian Standards and company procedures
Load/unload equipment and operate workshop tools and forklifts
Complete accurate testing, inspection and job documentation
Pack and dispatch orders
Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop
Attend toolbox meetings and product training
Field Service Responsibilities
Prepare vehicles, equipment and documentation for onsite inspections
Conduct onsite inspections and record results using an iPad
Liaise with customers regarding inspections, repairs and testing
Obtain repair approvals and complete required documentation
Coordinate equipment and repair requirements with the workshop and scheduler
Tag and return equipment to the workshop following inspections
Provide professional customer service and identify sales opportunities
Work safely both independently and as part of a team
Experience required:
Experience working in a technical, industrial, trades or workshop environment
A practical and mechanical aptitude
Some exposure to inspection, testing or quality processes
An understanding of the importance of working to procedures and standards
Strong attention to detail and accurate paperwork/documentation skills
White Card
Ability and willingness to obtain additional industry qualifications and certifications
A LEEA qualification or relevant lifting/rigging experience would be highly regarded
