We're partnering with a well-established Sydney-based digital product consultancy that builds high-quality web and mobile platforms for recognised Australian brands.

They're now hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to help design and evolve scalable backend systems powering modern digital products.

n

This is not a maintenance-heavy or feature-factory environment. Engineers here have genuine ownership over architecture, API design, and technical direction.

The Role

n

You'll be responsible for:

n

n
- Designing and building scalable backend services using Node.js & TypeScript
n
- Developing and optimising GraphQL and REST APIs
n
- Contributing to system architecture and technical strategy
n
- Ensuring performance, scalability and long-term maintainability
n




- Collaborating closely with frontend, mobile and product teams
n
- Mentoring mid-level engineers where required
n

What They're Looking For

n

- Solid commercial experience with Node.js
n
- Deep understanding of API design (GraphQL & REST)
n
- Experience with microservices or distributed systems
n
- Solid grasp of clean architecture and engineering best practices
n
- Comfortable operating in a high-autonomy, client-facing environment
n

Hybrid role in Sydney - 3 days in office (Sydney CBD)
