We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to support reliable operations at our Wasleys Feedmill.

The position of Maintenance Fitter is primarily responsible for carrying out repairs and maintenance to the Feed Mill machinery. The Maintenance Fitter is to ensure all work carried out is completed in a safe manner according to Baiada standards and systems. The position holder reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Key responsibilities:

- General plant preventative maintenance - repairs to plant equipment, troubleshooting & callouts
- Perform stick (SMAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding for the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Operate and maintain manual lathe and milling machines to manufacture, modify, and repair components, and perform basic fabrication work as required.
- Adhere to Workplace Health and Safety System (WHS), Environmental Management System (EMS), Feed Safe, Quarantine Procedures and Workplace Injury Management System

Essential skills:





- MUST have Trade qualification in their specialised discipline
- Previous experience in working with a maintenance team manufacturing environment (Preferably in the food / animal feeds industry)
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Self-motivated
- Hold Confined Space entry permit
- First Aid / CPR certification
- National Licence to perform High Risk Work Forklift Licence)
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to make quick and safe decisions
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Ability to keep detailed records
- Well-developed problem-solving skills with the ability to implement long term preventative actions
- A knowledge of quality systems, WHS procedures and a vast understanding of how their actions can impact on the setting
- Enthusiasm to evolve and develop skills through staff training

To be eligible for this role, you must have legal right to work full-time (without restrictions) in Australia at the time of application.
