Manager, Communications and Advocacy
Are you an experienced communications leader who thrives on strategic influence, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy?
Victoria Catholic Education Authority (VCEA) is seeking an exceptional communications skilled to lead our Communications and Advocacy function and help shape the voice of Catholic education across Victoria.
This is an opportunity to lead a small and supportive team, work closely with executive leaders, and influence communications and advocacy on matters of significance to Catholic education across Victoria.
What you'll do
Reporting to the Deputy CEO / Chief Strategy Officer, the Manager, Communications and Advocacy leads VCEA's communications, advocacy and stakeholder engagement functions. Working closely with the CEO and senior leaders, you will shape and deliver strategic communications, manage media and digital engagement, support advocacy initiatives, and build strong relationships across the Catholic education sector.
You will provide expert communications advice, develop compelling content for a range of audiences, coordinate sector-wide communications, and help position VCEA as the trusted voice of Catholic education in Victoria.

You will bring
- Significant experience in senior communications, stakeholder engagement, media relations or advocacy roles
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing communications strategies in complex environments
- Experience identifying and managing communications risks,
issues and opportunities
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively
- Experience producing high-quality content across websites, traditional media, digital channels and social media
- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders
- Proven leadership capability, including developing teams, managing workloads and fostering a positive culture
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Qualifications, experience and requirements
- Tertiary qualification in communications, marketing or a related discipline
- Minimum five years' experience in a senior communications or marketing role
- Experience within the Catholic or education sector will be highly regarded
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence
- Commitment to the values and mission of Catholic education.
