Lead and manage a team of policy officers who develop and implement projects and policies to deliver on the NHVR’s regulatory outcomes. In addition, the position is required to assess the viability of existing operational policies and identify any policy or procedural gaps associated with the delivery of services by jurisdictional service partners to establish a nationally harmonised approach that support effective delivery of transitioning services by the NHVR.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead, manage and develop individuals within the Operational Policy team to ensure the effective delivery of a comprehensive work program within a time critical environment.
- Lead the development of operational policies, plans, procedures and associated documentation relating to the effective operationalisation of regulatory services, with a strong focus on on-road compliance and enforcement related activities, delivered by the NHVR and its service partners under the HVNL.
- Build and maintain highly effective working relationships across NHVR, partner agencies, industry, customers and other stakeholders.
- Monitor the effectiveness of existing national operational policies, plans, procedures and systems to ensure they remain effective and appropriate for transitioning services.
- Provide authoritative advice to the Chief Operating Officer and the Executive Leadership Team on operational policy issues that may impact on the delivery of regulatory services nationally.
- Work collaboratively with NHVR peers to ensure a cooperative approach to effective leadership and direction in an environment of change and continuous improvement.
- Represent the NHVR in a variety of forums and negotiate with influence with a range of key stakeholders including government agencies, industry bodies and customers.
- Adhere to all NHVR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NHVR internal processes.
- Comply with WH&S; policies and procedures and contribute and promote a safe and healthy work environment.
