The Role

n

A&K; (Aust) is seeking a full time Air Specialist to join our Melbourne office. You will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination of air reservation services across the DMC departments. The role includes completing all air-related tasks and support functions for these teams.

n

We are looking for someone with high attention to detail, excellent communication skills, a team player and with a commitment to customer service excellence.

n

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

n

n
- Quote and book the most suitable airfares and flights for A&K; clients
n
- Monitor and manage issue of tickets, reissues, cancellations, refunds and additional services
n
- Monitor GDS queues and keep staff informed of changes to their reservations. Liaise with colleagues to find appropriate alternatives where required.
n
- Management of the Group flight booking portals/systems to capture allotment in a timely manner
n




- Management of the Group flight pre-payment and final payment requirements
n
- Management of air required for staff travel
n
- Complete upgrade and luggage requests
n
- Ensure booking files in our reservations system are kept accurate with flight information detail and costings
n
- Assist in the management of any ADMs in conjunction with your manager and the finance department
n
- Participate in the after-hours emergency phone roster on a rotating basis
n
- Provide escalation support for emergency phone where team requires air support
n

Required knowledge and experience

n

n
- Minimum of 1-2 years travel industry experience required
n
- Fares & Ticketing experience
n
- Previous experience in a Corporate, Wholesale or Retail Travel environment
n
- Experience in a fast-paced environment with high volume workload
n
- Extensive experience using Amadeus Global Distribution System (GDS)
n
- Experience in using an in-house travel system (Travel Studio experience would be considered an advantage)
n
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook)
n
- Committed to the highest level of customer service
n
- High degree of attention to detail with strong time management skills essential
n
- Excellent communications skills - both written & verbal
n
- Team player but with ability to work autonomously
n
- Willingness to take on challenges.
n




- Demonstrated understanding of the requirements of high-end clients
n
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment with high-touch expectations
n
- Australian work right are required for this position
