Starbuck Excavation is seeking an experienced Earthworks Supervisor to take a hands-on leadership role in the delivery of a significant earthworks project.

n

Working closely with and reporting directly to the General Manager – Excavation, you will oversee daily site operations, coordinate personnel and plant, drive productivity and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to project requirements.

n

This is a hands-on supervisory role. We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable leading a site team, reading plans and managing daily works as they are jumping into a machine or assisting on the tools when required.

n

The position will initially focus on the successful delivery of a specific project, with the opportunity to transition into a broader company-wide supervisory role across Starbuck Group projects.

The Role

n

You will be responsible for:

n

Supervising the day-to-day delivery of bulk and civil earthworks

n

Leading operators, labourers, subcontractors and other site personnel

n

Planning and coordinating daily site activities

n

Providing clear direction to site teams

n

Reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings, specifications and levels

n

Setting, checking and maintaining required site levels

n

Coordinating plant, machinery, materials and site resources

n

Operating machinery and assisting with site works when required

n

Monitoring productivity, quality, workmanship and project progress

n

Identifying and resolving site issues before they impact delivery

n

Maintaining accurate site diaries and daily records

n

Reporting progress, delays,



variations, incidents and site issues to the General Manager

n

Communicating with project managers, clients, contractors and internal departments

n

Maintaining high standards of safety and site compliance

n

About You

n

We are looking for an experienced earthworks professional who knows how to lead from the front.

n

You will ideally have:

n

Extensive experience in bulk and civil earthworks

n

Previous experience supervising civil or earthworks projects

n

Strong practical experience operating earthmoving machinery

n

The ability and willingness to remain hands-on when required

n

Strong knowledge of earthmoving methodologies, plant operations and site sequencing

n

The ability to confidently read plans, levels and construction documentation

n

Experience managing operators, labourers and subcontractors

n

Strong leadership and communication skills

n

Good planning, organisation and problem-solving ability

n

Experience maintaining site diaries and project records

n

A solid commitment to safety, quality and efficient project delivery

n

Relevant construction qualifications, machinery competencies, licences and tickets will be highly regarded.
