Job Description
n
What's the role about?
n
Being a Recovery Support Worker at Richmind WA is more than just a job—it's a calling.
n
You'll support people navigating mental distress to build independence, reconnect with their strengths, and take steps toward the life they want to live.
n
This means helping with life skills, offering emotional support, and showing up as a consistent, compassionate presence.
n
You'll be part of a supportive team, working in our residential homes—helping people feel safe, seen, and heard.
n
What does a typical day look like?
n
n
- Sharing a cuppa and talking through the day's recovery goals
n
- Helping someone practice budgeting, cooking, or transport planning
n
- Supporting a person in distress with empathy and calm
n
- Celebrating a small but powerful win (like attending a group activity)
n
- Logging notes, chatting with your team, or attending a learning session
n
- Supporting a resident's family to understand how to walk the recovery journey with them
n
n
What makes you a great fit?
n
You don't need to be a mental health expert—you just need to care deeply about people and believe in their ability to grow and heal.
n
Desired Skills and Experience
n
We're looking for someone who:
n
n
- Has a Cert IV in Mental Health, Community Services, or similar—and experience in mental health

- Is emotionally intelligent, calm under pressure, and values teamwork
n
- Can support someone through a tough moment, not just a task
n
- Understands (or wants to learn) recovery-oriented practice
n
- Has a current driver's licence and relevant checks (see below)
n
- Lived experience of recovery (as a consumer, carer or family member) is especially valued here.
n
n
You'll need:
n
n
- Cert IV in a mental health or similar and previous experience
n
- National Police Clearance (under 6 months old)
n
- Working With Children Check
n
- First Aid & CPR (HLTAID011, HLTAID010, HLTAID009)
n
- Valid driver's licence
n
n
We have multiple part-time positions at Orelia. All rosters include a range of shifts including days, afternoons, weekends and overnights.
n
Who are we?
n
At Richmind WA, we've been supporting people on their mental health journeys for over 50 years.
n
We're recovery-first, lived experience-led, and proudly Rainbow Tick accredited. We walk alongside people with compassion, courage, and belief in their potential.
n
Our services are residential, outreach, and everything in between—person-centred, trauma-informed, and inclusive at the core.
n
Our values
n
n
- Living and breathing recovery
n
- Being brave and exploring
n
- Listening deeply and learning
n
- Putting people first
n
- Being passionate about inclusion and belonging
n

- Meaningful work, every single day
n
- Salary packaging up to $18,640 (boosts your take-home pay)
n
- Two bonus leave days—your birthday + wellbeing leave
n
- Training, mentoring, and access to LinkedIn Learning
n
- Four weeks of annual leave (with the option to buy more)
n
- Free and confidential Employee Assistance Program
n
- Long service leave after 5 years
n
