Senior Microsoft 365 Platform Software Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft 365 Platform Software Engineer to design, develop, and support enterprise solutions across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

n

This role is suited to a senior M365 specialist with strong development capability across SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, Microsoft Graph API, security and compliance tooling. You will play a key role in delivering secure, scalable solutions while supporting platform uplift, automation, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Design and develop SharePoint Online solutions, including sites, pages, hub structures, and enterprise content management capabilities.
n
- Build custom SharePoint solutions using SharePoint Framework (SPFx), React, and TypeScript.
n
- Configure SharePoint information architecture components including content types, managed metadata, term stores, and site columns.
n
- Develop Microsoft Teams applications including tabs, messaging extensions, connectors, and automated workflows.
n
- Build and deploy Teams bots using Azure Bot Service, Teams Toolkit, and Microsoft Copilot Studio.
n
- Develop automation solutions using Microsoft Graph API across users, calendars, mail, Teams, and SharePoint.
n
- Administer and enhance Microsoft 365 security and compliance capabilities, including:
n
- Microsoft Purview
n
- Configure and manage compliance solutions including sensitivity labels, DLP policies, retention policies, communication compliance, and eDiscovery.
n
- Support Microsoft Syntex implementations,



including document processing models and content automation.
n
- Manage Exchange Online administration including mailbox management, mail flow rules, connectors, and security policies.
n
- Develop PowerShell scripts for Microsoft 365 administration, provisioning, reporting, and automation.
n
- Contribute to Microsoft 365 security uplift initiatives, including Essential Eight maturity improvements and ISM-aligned controls.
n
- Provide L2/L3 technical support, incident management, troubleshooting, and platform optimisation.
n
- Mentor team members and contribute to knowledge sharing and capability uplift.
n

Skills & Experience

n

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

n

- Strong hands-on experience developing and supporting Microsoft 365 enterprise solutions.
n
- Proven experience with SharePoint Online and SPFx development using React and TypeScript.
n
- Experience developing applications and integrations for Microsoft Teams.
n
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Graph API and Microsoft 365 automation.
n
- Experience administering Microsoft 365 security and compliance platforms.
n
- Demonstrated capability with PowerShell scripting and automation.
n
- Experience with Microsoft Defender, Purview, and tenant security configuration.
n
- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, including Essential Eight and ISM controls.
n
- Experience providing senior-level technical support and resolving complex M365 platform issues.
n
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical teams and senior stakeholders.
