Your Opportunity:
We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the design, development and delivery of complex Defence vehicle systems.
This role provides the chance to work across the engineering lifecycle, from concept and design through to integration, testing and validation. Working alongside experienced engineers and global stakeholders, you'll help deliver innovative solutions that support Australia's future Defence capability.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll:
- Design and develop mechanical systems and components for advanced Defence platforms.
- Produce engineering documentation, technical specifications and 3D models using CATIA.
- Perform engineering calculations, analysis and design reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
- Support vehicle integration, testing and validation activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver project outcomes. Please note: Occasional domestic and international travel may be required to support supplier, integration and testing activities.
What You'll Bring: To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions within complex project environments.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, engineering processes and quality standards.
- Experience developing engineering drawings, technical documentation and design artefacts.
- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience in Defence, automotive, aerospace, heavy vehicle or advanced manufacturing industries.
- Experience using CATIA and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Knowledge of military standards, vehicle development or systems engineering frameworks.
- Eligibility for, or attainment of, Chartered Engineer status through Engineers Australia.
Eligibility
- To be successful in this role, you will need to be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security clearance up to NV1 (must be an Australian Citizen). Eligibility criteria can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
