Mechanical Supervisor - SMP / Structural Integrity

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor with an SMP (Structural, Mechanical & Piping) background to join a major structural integrity project at Cape Lambert Wharf.

The initial scope involves remedial works to the wharf, with the potential for additional project scopes and ongoing opportunities beyond the initial engagement.

The Project The project involves structural and rigging activities associated with remedial works, including:

- Removal and lifting of existing concrete slabs
- Cutting out existing structural steel
- Installation of new concrete panels
- Structural steel and remedial works
- Rigging and associated SMP activities
- Supervising crews and subcontractors across day and night shifts

What We're Looking For The client is particularly interested in candidates with:
- Strong SMP / Structural & Mechanical experience
- Previous structural integrity project experience - highly beneficial
- Experience working with structural steel
- A Boilermaker background will be viewed favourably
- Working knowledge of welding, particularly from a QA, inspection or supervisory perspective
- Previous experience supervising structural, mechanical or rigging activities
- Strong safety, quality and construction leadership skills
- Rio Tinto experience preferred





Previous Rio Tinto inductions are desirable but not essential. Required inductions can be completed prior to commencement, with the client covering the course costs. Please note that time spent completing inductions prior to mobilisation is not reimbursed. Rates & Hours

- Day Shift: $79.00 per hour
- Night Shift: $88.67 per hour
- Paid hours per shift: 12.5 hours (12 hours worked + 0.5 hour handover)
- Higher rates may be negotiated for candidates with solid relevant experience and a suitable background

Travel payment:

- For flights on the same day as the shift, candidates are paid from the time of their flight until 6:00pm
- For flights the evening prior to commencement, candidates are paid a flat 2 hours at the applicable rate

Required Qualifications & Tickets
- MSIC or MSIC application
- S26
- Working at Heights
- Confined Space Entry
- Basic Fire
- DAS LAB - within 28 days
- Medical - within the past 2 years
- White Card

Project / Roster Dates Several swings are currently available:
- 12/09 - 22/09: 3 x Days / 7 x Nights
- 21/09 - 06/10: 7 x Days / 7 x Nights
- 28/09 - 13/10: 7 x Days / 7 x Nights
