About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to take responsibility for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of mechanical maintenance activities across the Ore Handling Plant
This is a hands-on operational leadership role, responsible for ensuring mechanical maintenance activities are planned and executed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. You will provide frontline leadership to mechanical maintenance personnel, coordinate daily activities and work closely with the wider site team to support reliable plant performance.
The position is part of a transition from contractor-provided supervision to company-employed supervision, providing an opportunity to take direct ownership of mechanical maintenance performance, accountability and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities across the OHP.
- Provide frontline leadership to mechanical maintenance personnel and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities to support plant availability and reliability.
- Ensure maintenance work is completed to the required quality standards and in accordance with site procedures.
- Work closely with Operations and other maintenance disciplines to coordinate maintenance activities and minimise disruption to production.
- Support maintenance planning,
scheduling and execution.
- Monitor work progress and ensure maintenance activities are completed within required timeframes.
- Identify maintenance issues and opportunities to improve plant reliability and performance.
- Ensure employees and contractors comply with site safety requirements, procedures and statutory obligations.
- Provide technical and operational support to the maintenance team as required.
- Promote a strong safety, housekeeping and continuous improvement culture across the OHP.
- Maintain effective communication with site leadership and provide updates on maintenance activities, issues and priorities.
Key Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a Mechanical Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor or similar within a mining or heavy industrial environment.
- Robust fixed plant mechanical maintenance experience.
- Experience within an Ore Handling Plant, processing plant or materials handling environment highly desirable.
- Experience supervising mechanical maintenance personnel in an operational environment.
- Sound understanding of planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance.
- Experience coordinating maintenance activities and managing competing operational priorities.
- Strong understanding of site safety requirements and statutory compliance.
- Ability to work effectively with Operations, Maintenance and contractors.
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Current C-Class Driver's Licence.
