Medic Emergency Services Officer (MESO)

AIM Mining Corporation is an emerging gold development company with major growth plans underway. We currently operate the Warrawoona Gold Project in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia. As part of our strategic growth plans, we are preparing to commence works on a new underground mining operation at Warrawoona, creating an exciting opportunity for an experienced emergency response professional to support both our current Open Pit operations and future Underground activities.
As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Medic Emergency Services Officer (MESO) to join us at our Warrawoona Gold Project.
This role is responsible for providing frontline medical support, emergency response services and injury management across site. Reporting to the relevant supervisor, you will play a critical role in maintaining the health, safety and wellbeing of our workforce while ensuring emergency preparedness and response capabilities are maintained to the highest standard. Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-hospital medical treatment and first aid in accordance with scope of practice, site procedures and approved medical protocols
- Administer medications and treatments within authorised guidelines and scope of competency
- Plan and deliver emergency response training while leading and developing the onsite Emergency Response Team (ERT) to ensure a high level of preparedness, capability and operational readiness at all times
- Conduct primary and secondary patient assessments, trauma care, CPR, AED use and emergency medical interventions
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient care records, treatment reports and medical documentation
- Manage and maintain site medical facilities, equipment and medical supplies to ensure operational readiness
- Coordinate injury management, rehabilitation programs and return-to-work processes
- Respond promptly and effectively to all site emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, rescues and hazardous materials events
- Demonstrate competency across all Emergency Services Officer functions, including emergency response,
rescue operations and incident management
- Maintain competency and operational readiness in underground emergency response systems, including BioPak breathing apparatus equipment, rescue procedures and underground emergency management protocols
- Inspect, maintain and test emergency response equipment, vehicles and PPE to ensure compliance and readiness
- Participate in and facilitate emergency response drills, rescue scenarios and training exercises
- Support health surveillance, drug and alcohol testing and wellbeing initiatives across site
- Work closely with operational and leadership teams to support risk management and safety improvement initiatives
- Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with company procedures, statutory requirements and relevant industry standards
- Promote a positive safety culture through hazard identification, risk management and compliance with company procedures and legislative requirements
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate IV in Health Care or equivalent qualification
- Certificate III in Mines Rescue, Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue, or equivalent emergency services qualification
- Current First Aid, Advanced Resuscitation and CPR certifications
- Current Drug and Alcohol Testing qualification
- Demonstrated experience working as a Medic, ESO or MESO within a mining, remote site or industrial setting
- Demonstrated experience in underground mining emergency response operations
- Proven competency in the use, inspection, maintenance and deployment of BioPak breathing apparatus systems
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Demonstrated experience leading emergency response teams and coordinating emergency incidents
- Proven ability to remain calm and effective when responding to emergencies and high-pressure situations
- Strong understanding of underground mining hazards,
emergency response procedures and rescue protocols
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety principles and risk management practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a close-knit team environment
- High level of professionalism, integrity and attention to detail
- Current Manual Driver's Licence
- Ability to obtain a Valid National Police Clearance (NPC)
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in mining, oil and gas, construction or remote-site operations
- Experience working as a Medic, ESO or MESO within a FIFO environment
- Underground Mines Rescue experience
- Experience responding to underground mining emergencies and rescue situations
- BioPak Trainer competency or experience facilitating breathing apparatus training
- Advanced Trauma Care qualifications
- Confined Space Rescue qualification
- Working at Heights certification
- High Risk Work Licences
- Experience establishing or developing Emergency Response Teams (ERTs) within a mining environment
- Experience with emergency management systems and incident reporting software
- Return-to-Work Coordinator certification
- Knowledge of relevant Western Australian mining legislation and emergency preparedness requirements
- Experience with incident command systems and emergency management frameworks
