The Position
n
Veterinary Surgery Nurse Assistant - Full-Time
n
Reporting to the Surgery Coordinator– you will work alongside our amazing vets and nurses to deliver gold standard care with compassion.

The Role
n
n
- Set up, clean, disinfect, pack down and maintain all surgical areas and equipment including prep, theatre, autoclave room, imaging rooms. (cleaning is the core focus of this role)
n
- Contributing to the upkeep of hygiene and cleanliness within the hospital treatment areas.
n
- Ensure the thorough cleaning, sterilisation and safe handling of surgical instruments in accordance to infection control protocols and industry standards
n
- Ensure surgical areas are fully restocked and maintained to support efficient clinical operations
n
- Complete tasks on the Nurse Assistant Checklist and Infection Control Checklists in a timely and proficient manner
n
- Occasionally assist with patient restraint for procedures (under supervision) as required
n
- Understand and adhere to BVSC's governance and WHS policies to ensure tasks are completed in accordance with BVSC's high standards of care and safety.
n
- Working 38 hours per week worked over 5 days: Monday – Friday 7am – 3pm
n

About You
n
We are looking for someone who enjoys being physically active and can work efficiently both independently and within a team. You should be proactive, detail-focused, and able to juggle multiple tasks.

- Energetic, motivated, reliable

- Genuine dedication to learning and further professional development
n
- Must demonstrate resilience and the ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-pressure environment.
n
- A solid understanding of infection control, workplace health and safety principles, and safe manual handling
n
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
n
- Must be able to complete physical requirements of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
n
- Solid communication skills (both written and verbal)
n
- Flexibility and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks
n
- Must have Certificate II or III Animal Studies.
n
- Prior experience in veterinary setting is an advantage
n
