Position Summary/Objectives of Incumbent: The Commissioning engineer will work as a part of the Project Engineering team in Australia/New Zealand and be responsible for the commissioning of mission critical electrical and mechanical equipment, protected electrical practices, facility/project handover, and issue resolution. The role will be responsible for developing and executing commissioning scripts/tests to demonstrate to the customer that the equipment is correctly installed and set to work, support enhanced design reviews and consult to the business as required.

Key Responsibilities

Testing & Commissioning
n
n
- Development of electrical, mechanical and total system test scripts.
n
- Attend and oversee pre‐customer testing.
n
- Attend and be an active participant of customer equipment FWT/FAT/SAT.
n
- Liaise with customer commissioning teams/agents as required.
n
- Coordinate with Service operations on the scheduling of commissioning/start‐up.
n
- Execute Test scripts in conjunction with Projects and Service teams.
n
- Prepare and submit test results reports and documentation to the customer's expectations.
n
- Conduct facility walk throughs and punch list reviews in conjunction with the Project Management team.
n

Documentation And Customer Management
n
n
- Provide test and documentation that equipment is installed and tested correctly and set to the function properly for the customer.
n
- QA/QC of equipment installation, start‐up, and testing.
n
- Engage with customers to ensure a positive experience, goals achievement and schedule adherence.
n
- Provide daily reports for commissioning status for internal stakeholders and customers as required.
n

Continuous Improvement
n
n
- Work closely with project engineering, project management and service operations to constructively feedback areas of improvement in process using internal VOS (Vertiv Operating System) tools.
n
- Assist the business to develop greater levels of professionalism around commissioning best practices by developing and mentoring graduates and junior engineers.

Education/Qualification
n
n
- Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering.
n
n
Specialist Knowledge
n
n
- Have extensive experience with UPS and HVAC systems.
n
- Ability to test dry contact alarms with thorough understanding of alarm and control integration.
n
- Understanding of BMS integration of 3 rd party products through dry contacts and IP monitoring.
n
n
Practical Experience
n
n
- 5+ Years or more experience in data centre commissioning.
n
n

- Good written and verbal communication skills.
n
