Your new company An established and growing bookkeeping and advisory firm in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs is seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join their busy and supportive team.Working with a portfolio of clients across a range of industries, there will be a particular strong focus on supporting legal firms and solicitors, making previous experience working with legal clients essential. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong bookkeeper who enjoys managing client relationships, solving problems and providing high-quality financial support to businesses.

Your new role

n

n
- Managing a portfolio of bookkeeping clients, with a particular focus on legal practices
n
- End-to-end bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
n
- Trust accounting and trust reconciliations in line with legal industry requirements
n
- Preparation and lodgement of BAS, IAS and payroll tax
n
- Payroll processing and related compliance obligations
n
- Month-end reporting and management accounts
n
- Cash flow management and forecasting
n
- Liaising directly with clients, accountants and external stakeholders
n
- Assisting with process improvements and implementation of best practice bookkeeping procedures
n




- Supporting clients with accounting software queries and system optimisation
n

What you'll need to succeed

n

n
- Proven experience as a Senior Bookkeeper within a public practice, bookkeeping or accounting services environment
n
- Previous experience managing bookkeeping for legal firms is essential
n
- Strong understanding of trust accounting and legal industry compliance requirements
n
- Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously
n
- Strong knowledge of Xero and cloud-based accounting systems
n
- Sound understanding of GST, BAS, payroll and bookkeeping compliance obligations
n
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
n
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
n
- Ability to work autonomously while remaining a team-oriented team player
n
