Millwright

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

- Red Seal Millwright Trade Certificate.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic instrumentation-, PLC programming-, SCADA integration-, VSD and Soft starter- knowledge.
- Must have broad knowledge and proven hands-on experience in the maintenance and reliability of air separators/classifiers, ball mills, PD blowers, fans, conveyor belts, gearboxes, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, crushers (Jaw, Cone, VSI and HSI), vibrating screens, milling equipment, pneumatic conveying systems and electrical motor control centers (MCCs).
- 5 years minimum mining or heavy industry experience; attitude and eagerness to learn are paramount
- Computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
- Arc & Mig welding with Gas Cutting and Welding knowledge and experience
- Position carries a 2.9.2 Legal Appointment as per mining regulations
- Medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act
- Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding environment, including prolonged standing, climbing, dusty conditions, high temperatures and manual handling
- 5S System, maintain neatness, tidiness, and good housekeeping in the work area
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic maintenance team environment
- Rigging and Slinging knowledge and experience
- Transformer Maintenance with Medium Voltage switching
- Knowledge CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System
- Must be able to interpret Electrical drawings and have Pneumatic & Hydraulic System knowledge and experience




- Must be able to read and use hydraulic and electrical schematics. Must also be able to troubleshoot with min information as is typical in old plants

Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)

- Maintain mechanical, electrical, PLC Systems, and instrumentation systems across two plants
- Plan, install, wire, and program new PLC systems with SCADA integration, including industrial networks in collaboration with the Senior Electrician
- Perform fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment
- Conduct basic welding builds and repairs as required
- Order parts and equipment as needed to ensure uninterrupted plant operation
- Complete all required documentation, including inspection sheets and maintenance logs
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a protected working environment
- Willingness to work overtime and standby duties on a rotational basis
- Comply with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and promote a safe work environment
- Good knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety audits per MHSA requirements
