The Role
As an Assistant Director in the Performance Measures and Analysis Team you will work with stakeholders to improve the quality and consistency of performance information and contribute to key corporate reporting products, including the Defence Corporate Plan, Annual Report and Annual Performance Statements.
You will provide advice on performance measurement, reporting and governance, helping Defence meet its accountability obligations under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act).This is an exciting prospect to step into a role that combines strategic thinking, analysis and stakeholder engagement.
You will analyse complex information, support the development of performance measures, and help strengthen evidence-based reporting and decision making. You will be comfortable working in a large, complex organisation and engaging with diverse stakeholders. You will be adaptable, resilient and able to manage competing priorities. Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, sound judgement and high-level communication skills are essential. Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate is required to be based in Canberra.
About our Team
The Enterprise Performance Branch is responsible for leading Defence’s enterprise-level performance analysis and measurement, corporate planning and reporting and accountability activities in line with PGPA Act and the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Rule 2014 requirements.
The Branch also facilitates the Australian National Audit Office performance statements audit, and supports implementation of a Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide final report recommendation. The Enterprise Performance Measures and Analysis Team works extensively across Defence Groups and Services, senior leaders, as well as with external agencies to strengthen enterprise performance and evaluation capability and ensure alignment with broader Commonwealth performance, governance and accountability requirements.
The Team provides expertise and guidance to Defence's senior leaders to measure and monitor Defence’s performance, including how to design performance measures and targets to demonstrate how Defence plans to achieve its mission, outcomes and key activities.
