Our Market Services team is looking to appoint an Operations Analyst to join the Commodity Markets & Finance Support Team in Sydney. Our team manages all post-execution trade lifecycle processes across global financial Metals, Agriculture, Commodity Investor Products, Oil, Power, Gas and Emissions markets and provides client service to internal and external clients of the Commodities and Financing Markets Division. We also manage the Futures match outs and reconciliations for each business within the bank, ensuring our trade positions reconcile back to those of the Global Exchanges / Futures Clearing.

What role will you play?
In this role you will manage post-execution trade lifecycle activities across a diverse range of global commodities markets, including Metals, Agriculture, Commodity Investor Products, Oil, Power, Gas and Emissions. You will verify and settle transactions, perform daily reconciliations with global exchanges and futures clearing houses, investigate and resolve trade discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy of trade, inventory and Nostro positions. You will build strong relationships with traders and key internal stakeholders across Credit, Legal, Finance and Technology, while gaining exposure to Futures, Options, Swaps and Structured products.
Additionally, you will contribute to regulatory reporting, maintain standard operating procedures, and support strategic and operational improvement projects across the business.
What You Offer
- 1-3 years' experience within commodity or financial markets, with Futures market exposure viewed favourably.
- Strong operational capability, including high attention to detail, accuracy, problem-solving skills, and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Excellent organisation, communication and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work independently, take ownership and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Solid technical proficiency across Microsoft Office 365 (particularly Excel), with experience in data analytics, Excel formulas/macros, and using data to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Client-focused mindset with experience supporting internal and external stakeholders, knowledge of trade bookings and risk management systems, and flexibility to support peak periods, staff absences and public holiday coverage when required.
