Role Description The Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Sunshine Coast, QLD, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the practice. This role coordinates clinic schedules, staffing, and workflow to ensure smooth patient journeys from initial contact through follow-up care.
The Operations
Manager monitors and improves operational processes, supports compliance with clinical and regulatory requirements, and manages relationships with external providers and vendors. Daily tasks include supervising administrative staff, managing budgets and resource allocation, generating operational reports, and implementing systems to enhance efficiency and patient experience. The role also contributes to strategic planning, supports change management initiatives,
and works closely with clinical leaders to align operations with the group’s care standards.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in healthcare or medical practice operations, including clinic administration and workflow management.
- Robust leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to supervise, mentor, and develop administrative teams.
- Proficiency in scheduling, resource planning, and basic budgeting or financial oversight within a clinical setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with surgeons, staff, patients, and external stakeholders.
- Solid organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on process improvement.
- Comfort with digital systems and practice management software; ability to learn new tools and support their implementation.
- Knowledge of healthcare privacy, safety, and regulatory requirements (experience in orthopaedics or specialist clinics is an advantage).
- Relevant tertiary qualification in health administration, business management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work on-site full time on the Sunshine Coast, manage competing priorities, and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
