We are seeking an experienced Orchard Hand who will work on the Mango farm which consists of 55,000 producing mango trees across 152 hectares. The property is situated approximately 15 minutes from Humpty Doo and 45 minutes from Darwin. We employ over 150 staff during harvest.

As a member of our farm operations team, you will play a crucial role in various aspects of farm activities. The work can be physically demanding, especially during the harvest season, but it offers a rewarding experience for individuals who are self-motivated and adaptable.

Duties would include

Orchard Health

- Liaise with the Farm Manager to plan, discuss and implement fertilising, replanting and pruning activities to maintain and maximise orchard health.

- Actively involved in slashing, herbiciding and spraying to maximise tree performance.

Infrastructure & Maintenance

- Manage routine maintenance and cleaning of farm equipment and machinery.

- Irrigation repairs and maintenance.

Orchard Administration

- Maintain appropriate and accurate records.



Ensure there is quick access to information by other staff when required

- Ensure all fertiliser applied is recorded and allocated accurately to each orchard on the appropriate form

- Comply with internal controls and ensure regular administration activities are completed accurately and on time

- Maintain any other records as required.

Harvest

- Operating tractors to bring bins from the field to the pack shed and filling up harvest aids with water

- When required, supervising pickers and operating harvest aids

Other Duties

- Ensure any vehicles, plant and machinery used are checked before operation and cleaned after use.

- Maintain your workspace so it is clean and tidy

- General gardening when required.

General Skills & Experience

- Australian Citizen or a work visa with no restrictions

- Current Drivers licence is essential

- Current Forklift Licence is desirable

- Current First Aid Certificate is desirable

- Current Chemical Certificate is desirable.

- An understanding of basic machinery and property infrastructure maintenance

- Able to work cooperatively with minimal supervision
