Job Description
About the Role
n
This is a fantastic part time opportunity to join Melbourne Water as the Edithvale Water Literacy Education Coordinator and help bring Melbourne's water story to life for schools, community groups, and visitors.
n
In this role, you'll coordinate and support the delivery of engaging water literacy education programs across Melbourne Water sites, including the Western Treatment Plant and Edithvale-Seaford Wetland Education Centre. You'll play a key role in helping people understand the urban and natural water cycle, the importance of sustainable water management, and the role Melbourne Water plays in supporting a liveable and resilient city.

Based at the Edithvale-Seaford Wetlands Education Centres this role combines program coordination, education delivery, stakeholder support, and continuous improvement.

- Coordinate scheduling and delivery of water literacy education programs across sites, including the Western Treatment Plant (WTP) and Edithvale-Seaford Wetland Education Centre (ESWEC).
n
- Deliver high-quality in-person and digital education programs, tours, and events.
n
- Support the development and continuous improvement of education content, learning experiences, and delivery approaches.
n
- Provide day-to-day coordination and support for casual educators and facilitators.
n
- Maintain strong working relationships with schools, community groups, and internal stakeholders.
n
- Support evaluation and reporting of program outcomes, including capturing participant feedback and insights.
n
- Respond to community enquiries and represent Melbourne Water in engagements.
n
- Assistwith planning andlogisticsfor events, programs, and stakeholder activities.
n

About you
n
You'll be organised, confident communicating with different audiences, and comfortable adapting your delivery style to suit students, teachers, community members, and visitors. You'll enjoy working both independently and as part of a team, and you'll bring a practical, solutions-focused approach to coordinating programs and supporting others.

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally bring:
n
n
- Experience delivering education programs, tours, events, or community engagement activities.
n
- Solid communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical or complex information clearly.
n
- Good organisational skills, with experience coordinating schedules, activities, resources, or small programs.
n
- An interest in water, sustainability, environmental education, science, or community learning.
n
- The ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
n
- A collaborative, flexible and initiative-taking approach.
n
- Confidence using digital tools or interactive learning technologies, or a willingness to learn.
n
- Relevant studies or equivalent experience in education, science, environment, or a related field.
n
n
A current medical, Working with Children Check and current driver's licence are required. First Aid qualifications are desirable.
n
