About The Role: The organisation is looking for an experienced EL1 Procurement Capability & Contract Management Lead to lead capability development, strengthen frameworks and governance, deliver practical training, and provide senior advice on complex procurement and contract matters.
Level/Classification: EL1
Contract Type: The position is for a non-Ongoing or S26 transfer
Contract Duration: 12 months
Location: Canberra, ACT | Hybrid flexibility
Department Proposed Rate: $125,863 - $143,171 Per Annum + Super (depending on experience)
Qualifications: A Certificate IV or relevant qualification in Government Procurement, contract management or equivalent experience is desirable, but not essential.
Requirements:
- MUST have a minimum Baseline Security Clearance held prior to commencement
- Ability and willingness to Undergo Police Check

Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement and contract management frameworks, tools and guidance.
- Deliver practical training,
workshops and learning resources.
- Provide senior advice on complex procurement, contracts, disputes and compliance.
- Act as an escalation point for complex matters and support decision-making.
- Identify capability gaps and develop practical solutions.
- Maintain procurement resources, templates, processes and SharePoint content.
- Support governance, assurance, audit and continuous improvement.
- Improve procurement systems, processes and user guidance.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and support team capability.
What You'll Bring
- Strong procurement lifecycle and contract management experience.
- Commonwealth procurement experience, ideally in complex environments.
- Experience developing and delivering training and guidance.
- Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder skills.
- Experience developing frameworks, policies, procedures and templates.
- Solid judgement and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide senior advice and support team capability.
- Process and systems improvement experience.
- Practical, commercially minded and risk-aware approach.
