THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Urgent Care team as an Urgent Care Team Leader.

You will provide frontline clinical care while supporting the clinical and operational leadership of the nursing team. Working with Medical Practitioners, the Practice Nurse Manager and Practice Manager, you will support effective triage, patient flow, clinical excellence and team development.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead and support Urgent Care triage
- Assess, triage and prioritise patients
- Recognise and escalation deterioration
- Provide high-quality nursing care within scope of practice
- Perform wound care, plastering, splinting, cannulation and IV therapy
- Perform suturing, suture removal and phlebotomy where applicable
- Assist Medical Practitioners with procedures
- Support nursing staff onboarding, training and mentoring
- Assist with rostering and daily team coordination
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Monitor clinical stock, medications and equipment
- Promote workplace health and safety

ABOUT YOU





- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 5 years' post-graduate nursing experience
- Minimum 1 year Emergency Department experience within the last 5 years
- Demonstrated emergency triage experience
- Primary Care or Urgent Care experience highly regarded
- Robust clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to recognise and escalation deterioration
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
- Passion for patient-centred care and clinical leadership
- Availability to work evenings and weekends

MANDATORY CHECKS

- Working With Children Check
- National Police Check
- International Police Check where relevant
