Neurocom is a growing technology company operating in the financial services and payments industry. We are looking for a capable and motivated Accountant with 3+ years’ experience to join our team in Chatswood.

This is a broad, hands-on role with exposure across month-end reporting, AP/AR, tax and payroll compliance, cash flow, budgeting and finance process improvement. You’ll work closely with management and teams across the business, with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as you develop.

What you'll be doingAccounting & month-end

- Manage day-to-day AP and AR, including invoices, payments, receipts and collections.
- Perform bank, credit card, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Take ownership of key parts of the monthly close process.
- Prepare monthly management reports and investigate variances or unusual transactions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Tax, payroll & compliance

- Prepare and support BAS, GST and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Reconcile payroll, superannuation, PAYG and other employee-related balances.
- Support payroll tax, FBT and workers compensation reporting where required.
- Assist with audit preparation and annual tax requirements.
- Assist with financial schedules and supporting documentation for R&D; Tax Incentive claims.

Business support & process improvement

- Assist with cash-flow reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Provide financial information and support to management and teams across the business.
- Help improve accounting processes, controls and reporting.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.
- Assist with improvements to finance systems and reporting tools.

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone who is organised, detail-oriented and comfortable taking ownership of their work.

You will ideally have:

- 3+ years’ relevant accounting experience.




- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Experience working in an Australian business setting.
- Practical experience with month-end accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Experience with BAS, GST, AP/AR and payroll-related accounting.
- A good understanding of PAYG, superannuation and other payroll-related obligations.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with Xero or similar accounting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities independently.

CA/CPA qualification or progress towards CA/CPA is highly desirable.

Desirable experience

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

- Experience in a technology, software or professional services environment.
- Exposure to international operations or intercompany accounting.
- Experience with payroll tax, FBT or workers compensation reporting.
- Exposure to the Research & Development Tax Incentive.
- Experience improving accounting processes, finance systems or reporting tools.
