About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Retail Dispatch Coordinator to manage scheduling, freight coordination, and delivery logistics across our network. This role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to liaise effectively with drivers, suppliers, and store teams to ensure timely, accurate dispatch operations.
Responsibilities:
Assist with retail packing as required, including placing products into boxes, sealing boxes, applying barcode stickers or invoices when needed, and stacking boxes on trolleys. Transport retail boxes to the refrigerator and organise them on the correct driver-labelled shelves, or stack Metcash Cross Dock boxes into crates on the ground.
Stack interstate orders onto pallets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Clear and organise chiller shelves to make space for delivered product boxes.
Investigate and record any discrepancies, add-ons, short items or special instructions on the driver’s manifest, and notify the office. Check the chiller regularly for boxes that have been left behind or returned and notify the office of any items that need to be shorted.
Prepare second delivery items on Monday mornings or as required. Print customer destination, box and bag labels according to the packing slips provided. Organise prepack labels for stores that require them.
Match barcode stickers and invoices to the relevant packing slip orders for interstate deliveries.
Print frozen labels for wet dish stock close to its freeze date, place the boxes in the freezer and record the details on the dispatch record sheet. Provide the wet dish team with current orders throughout the day. Organise the number of boxes required for daily retail packing and notify Woodfield dispatch when additional boxes are needed.
Print any labels that staff require e.g. Tray labels & ingredient labels, Use the cherry picker to retrieve equipment for staff when requested. Organise samples and clearly communicate the required quantities and deadlines to staff. Maintain a tidy computer area and ensure it is stocked with labels and ribbons.
Place packing slips and worklists into the appropriate labelled boxes. Pack boxes at the end of the day when products are too hot to pack earlier, staff have left or staff are occupied with other tasks. Complete this task early in the morning when required for interstate pallets.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Min 3 to 5 years demonstrated experience in dispatch coordinator or logistics scheduling capacity.
Strong organisational and time-management skills, Comfortable working in both office and cold store/warehouse environments, Ability to lift and move stock/boxes.
Clear written communication for supplier and internal liaison.
