About the Role

This thriving 120-place OSHC service is a highly regarded part of the local community, ideally located in the leafy suburbs just 18kms from Adelaide CBD. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a well-established service that is committed to providing high-quality education and care in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every child is valued and supported to thrive.

As Centre Director, you will be accountable to the Flagstaff Hill Primary School Governing Council through the Principal while providing strategic and operational leadership and overseeing the day-to-day management of the service while fostering a positive and supportive team culture. You will lead the implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP), ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework, mentor and develop educators.

The successful candidate will be an inspiring leader with proven people management experience, strong operational and financial management skills, sound knowledge of the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), and a genuine commitment to quality improvement and achieving the best outcomes for children, families, and educators.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver strong, values-led leadership to educators and support staff
- Oversee day-to-day operations, compliance, and governance in line with the National Quality Framework
- Drive continuous improvement and quality outcomes across all seven quality areas
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and the surrounding community
- Lead and support educational practice aligned with MTOP guidelines
- Manage staffing, budgets, and operational planning constraints
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and supportive workplace culture that prioritises staff wellbeing
- Ensure all children have access to high- quality programming, focusing on play-based learning that is engaging and educational
- Lead and support ongoing professional learning and development for all educators and staff

Essential Qualifications / Compliance

- Advanced Diploma or Diploma in OSHC or Children's Services or relevant Degree or Early Childhood Education Qualification (or ACECQA-approved equivalent)
- Working with children (WWC) Check




- First Aid Certificate (HLTAID012 - Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting)
- CPR Certificate
- Food Handling Certificate
- Foundations of Child Safety training
- RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care) Certificate or Child Safe Environments Certificate

Key Criteria

- Strong understanding of MTOP, NQS, NQF and early childhood pedagogical practice
- Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills
- Sound observation and reporting skills
- Strong technology skills, including experience with MYOB or other accounting platforms and proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word
- Proven experience as a Centre Director or a senior leadership role
- Commitment to inclusive practice, child safety, and community engagement
- Robust knowledge in business and financial acumen including payroll processing
- Ability to develop and uphold external stakeholder relationships
