We are seeking an experienced and motivated Panel Beater to join our team. Working in our busy collision repair workshop, you will undertake structural and cosmetic repairs to a variety of passenger vehicles while maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Assess damaged vehicles and determine appropriate repair methods in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards.
- Repair damaged steel, aluminium, plastic and fibreglass vehicle body components.
- Remove, repair and replace damaged body panels, doors, guards, bonnets and other vehicle components.
- Straighten vehicle frames and body structures using measuring and alignment equipment.
- Carry out panel beating, reshaping and metal finishing using hand tools, power tools and specialised workshop equipment.
- Weld, fit and align replacement panels and components to restore vehicle integrity and appearance.
- Prepare repaired surfaces through filling, grinding and sanding to achieve a high-quality finish before painting.
- Reassemble vehicle body components, trims and fittings, ensuring correct alignment and operation.
- Conduct final quality inspections to ensure repairs meet company, insurer and manufacturer standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with workplace health and safety procedures.
About you
- Relevant qualification or recognised training in automotive body repair, panel beating or vehicle body repair.
- At least 2 years of full-time post-qualification experience as a Panel Beater or in a closely related role.
- Ability to accurately assess collision damage and complete repairs to a high standard.
- Experience using modern panel repair equipment, welding equipment and measuring systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- A positive work ethic with reliable time management skills.
