Job Description
About the Role
n
We are seeking a Finance Officer to join our Finance Team in Canberra. This role plays a key part in supporting day‐to‐day finance operations, payroll processing, compliance activities, and overall business efficiency.
n
Reporting to the Finance Team Lead, you will contribute to payroll, taxation, reporting, and process improvements while also supporting broader finance and back‐office functions.
n
Candidates with payroll experience, as well as recent graduates looking to start their finance career, are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
n
Accounting & Payroll
n
n
- Process contractor timesheets
n
- Assist with monthly staff payroll, including leave balances and superannuation
n
- Support invoicing and payment processing
n
- Assist with taxation obligations
n
- Assist with month‐end processes, reconciliations, and journal entries
n
- Support preparation of management and budget reports, and annual financial statements
n
- Assist with external audits
n
- Manage salary packaging arrangements (e.g. novated leases, LAFHA)
n
n
Business Compliance
n
n
- Assist with state and territory licensing requirements
n
- Ensure compliance with operational and regulatory obligations
n
n
Finance & Operations Support
n
n
- Input financial data into MYOB and internal systems
n
- Manage timesheets and payroll invoice filing
n
- Support monthly invoicing cycles
n
- Run reports (e.g. Aged Receivables) and follow up outstanding payments
n
n
General Duties
n
n
- Monitor shared finance/admin inboxes
n
- Support ad‐hoc finance and operational tasks
n
n
About You
n
You are a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional who thrives in a fast‐paced environment.
n
Skills & Experience
n
n
- Previous experience in a finance or payroll processing role
n
- Familiarity with MYOB and/or Astute Payroll (highly desirable)
n
- High attention to detail and accuracy
n
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
n
