A well‐established and growing financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Team Leader - Credit to lead a high‐performing credit assessment team within its lending operations.

n

This role is responsible for delivering high‐quality credit decisions and processing outcomes that support responsible lending, operational efficiency and an exceptional broker and customer experience. It is a hands‐on leadership position for someone who combines strong credit expertise with people leadership capability and a proactive, solution‐focused mindset.

The Prospect

n

Reporting to Senior Leader - Credit, you will lead and develop a specialist credit team responsible for end‐to‐end credit assessment and decisioning. You will play a key role in balancing risk, service and productivity while supporting complex lending decisions and contributing to continuous improvement across credit workflows.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Lead, coach and develop a credit assessment team to deliver quality, productivity and behavioural expectations
n
- Provide day‐to‐day leadership through 1:1s, coaching sessions, performance reviews and development planning
n
- Oversee daily workflow, queues and prioritisation to ensure service levels and turnaround times are achieved
n
- Support escalated credit decisions, complex cases, policy interpretation and exceptions
n
- Ensure credit assessments and processing align with responsible lending obligations, AML/CTF and regulatory requirements
n




- Monitor quality assurance results and key risk indicators, taking corrective action where required
n
- Act as a key escalation point for brokers and internal stakeholders, resolving issues efficiently and professionally
n
- Collaborate with Sales, Risk and Operations teams to improve processes, capacity and customer outcomes
n
- Monitor performance metrics and use insights to drive efficiency, quality uplift and continuous improvement
n

About You

n

You are a confident credit leader with deep technical knowledge and a collaborative leadership style. You thrive in fast‐paced, high‐volume environments and are comfortable making and supporting complex credit decisions while developing others.

n

Key Requirements

n

n
- Proven experience leading and coaching a credit or operations team (2+ years desirable)
n
- Strong background in credit assessment and decisioning within financial services
n
- Minimum 5 years' specialist credit experience, including holding a Delegated Commitment / Approval Authority of up to $3m
n
- Experience managing escalations and complex lending scenarios in a high‐volume environment
n
- Strong understanding of risk, compliance and regulatory frameworks
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- Certificate IV in Business Operations (desirable)
n
