Cordium Medical Staff Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and capable Health Practice Manager to oversee and coordinate the administrative, operational and practice management functions of our medical practice.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing practice resources, coordinating practice personnel, overseeing administrative systems and supporting the effective delivery of healthcare services. The role requires strong leadership, organisational and communication skills, together with demonstrated experience in medical practice administration and healthcare operations.
This is a hands‑on management position involving staff coordination, practice administration, financial and resource management, policy and procedure implementation, quality improvement, compliance and liaison with medical practitioners, nursing staff, patients and external healthcare stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate the day‑to‑day administrative and operational functions of the medical practice.
- Plan and review practice workflows, administrative procedures and service standards to ensure efficient practice operations.
- Coordinate staff rosters, work allocation, recruitment, induction, training and ongoing staff supervision.
- Manage practice resources, equipment, facilities and supplies to support effective healthcare operations.
- Develop, implement and review practice policies, procedures and administrative systems.
- Coordinate practice billing, accounts, financial administration, budgeting and expenditure monitoring.
- Maintain practice records, documentation and administrative systems in accordance with organisational requirements.
- Monitor compliance with healthcare legislation, workplace health and safety, accreditation standards and practice procedures.
- Coordinate quality improvement, accreditation and operational improvement initiatives across the practice.
- Liaise with medical practitioners, nursing staff, patients, suppliers and external healthcare stakeholders to resolve operational matters.
- Monitor practice performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, patient services and overall practice operations.
- Promote a professional and collaborative workplace culture and support effective communication across the practice team.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Health Administration, Health Management, Public Health, Business Administration or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum three years of relevant experience in medical practice management, healthcare administration or health practice operations.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating the administrative and operational functions of a medical or healthcare practice.
- Demonstrated experience in staff recruitment, induction, training, supervision, work allocation and performance management.
- Experience developing, implementing and monitoring workplace policies, procedures and administrative systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of healthcare compliance, accreditation, workplace health and safety and quality improvement requirements.
- Experience with practice resources, supplies, billing, accounts, financial administration and operational budgeting.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with medical practitioners, nurses, administrative staff, patients and external healthcare organisations.
- Strong organisational, leadership, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
