Location: Hunter Valley (Thornton Office) Role Type: Full Time

About the Role
n
We are seeking a Project Engineer to support our Estimators, Project Managers, and Construction Supervisors across the full project lifecycle – from tendering and planning through to delivery and finalisation. This role is pivotal in coordinating civil works, ensuring documentation accuracy, managing subcontractors, and maintaining QA and compliance standards.
n
This role may have you involved in the internal delivery of projects or the external delivery assistance of our consulting clients.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Assist with estimating, tender submissions, and pricing variations.
n
- Coordinate project documentation, survey control, and contractual reviews.
n
- Work with supervisors to prepare Construction programs.
n
- Manage RFIs and ensure timely responses.
n
- Oversee subcontractors and ensure high-quality workmanship.
n
- Maintain QA documentation, including ITPs and compliance records.
n
- Monitor environmental and safety obligations in line with Keejen systems.
n
- Support project risk assessments and identify constructability issues.
n
- Ensure proper control, storage, and distribution of drawings and site documentation.
n
n
Safety & Environment Responsibilities
n
n
- Comply with Keejen's safety and environmental management systems.
n
- Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and develop SWMS.
n
- Use PPE and safe practices in all tasks.
n
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
n
- Report incidents immediately and follow emergency procedures.
n
n
Qualifications & Experience
n
n
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
n
- Current White Card (General Construction Induction).
n
- Experience in project engineering within civil construction.
n
- RIW is desirable.
n
- Strong knowledge of QA systems, construction methodologies, and contract management.
n
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Project.
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
n
