Job Description
n
In this role, you will provide technical leadership on complex projects within the Power Conversion and Storage business, working closely with project teams, customers, and global engineering partners. You will play a key role in ensuring designs meet customer, safety, regulatory, budget, and schedule requirements—while also helping improve engineering processes and systems.
n
This role is well suited to someone with experience in rail, power, utilities, or energy storage, who enjoys solving complex problems and collaborating across disciplines and geographies.

Responsibilities
n
n
- Lead systems and project engineering activities across power conversion and electrical systems projects
n
- Develop and review designs, specifications, and documentation for electrical systems, including:n n
- Generators, transformers, switchboards, converters, motors, energy storage, and cabling
n
n
- Ensure engineering outputs comply with health, safety, regulatory, and industry standards
n
- Act as the technical focal point, coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors
n
- Review electrical schematics and technical documentation for compliance and functionality
n
- Provide technical input to project planning, delivery, and customer solutions
n
- Support tendering and sales activities by providing engineering expertise
n
- Participate in design reviews, engineering forums, and organisational improvement initiatives
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering tools, processes, and systems
n
n
What You Bring
n
n
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic,
or Instrumentation Engineering from a local or internationally recognised university. Those with a diploma coupled with relevant electrical and industry experience will be considered.
n
- 7–10 years' experience in systems or electrical engineering within rail, power, utilities, or energy sectors
n
- Strong technical knowledge of power conversion and electrical systems across design, manufacturing, field engineering, or equipment lifecycle support
n
- Ability to read, write, and review technical specifications and engineering documentation
n
- Experience with systems engineering and assurance activities such as Safety in Design, HAZOP, FMECA, RAM, and Human Factors would be advantageous, but not necessary.
n
- Experience interpreting power system studies and design outputs, including SLDs, protection coordination, load flow, fault studies, harmonics, EMC, and cable sizing would be advantageous, but not necessary.
n
- Transparent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse internal and external stakeholders
n
- Customer‐focused mindset with commercial awareness
n
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
n
