As we continue to centralise and enhance key business functions, including the integration of New Zealand payroll into our Australian Head Office, this is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team and play a hands-on role in shaping the future of payroll across the NTAW Group

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Payroll Specialist, the Payroll Officer plays an important role in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services across the NTAW Group.

Working within a supportive and high-performing team, you will contribute to the ongoing centralisation of payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand, helping to drive consistency, efficiency, and an exceptional employee experience.

This position offers part-time flexibility of up to 38 hours per week (with a minimum of 30.4 hours) to support workflow requirements.

You will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, maintaining payroll data integrity, supporting compliance obligations, and partnering with stakeholders across HR, Finance, and Operations to deliver outstanding payroll services.

You are organised, proactive, and confident building relationships across all levels of the business. With exposure to both Australian and New Zealand payroll environments, you enjoy working in a collaborative team and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

To be successful in this role,



you'll bring:

- Previous payroll experience, ideally within a multi-site or blue-collar environment
- Experience supporting both Australian and New Zealand payroll operations
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and National Employment Standards
- Solid attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience using Datacom (highly regarded)
- EBA interpretation experience (desirable)
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- A collaborative, customer-focused approach and commitment to confidentiality

Key Responsibilities

- Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time using Datacom
- Validate timesheets and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Process employee payroll transactions, including leave, allowances, overtime and terminations
- Support payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, awards, taxation and superannuation requirements
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with month-end and statutory reporting obligations
- Respond to payroll enquiries and build effective relationships with employees, managers and key stakeholders
- Contribute to payroll process improvements, system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives
